It’s Me, Mily- And I’m A 12 Year Old Adult.
“Life is a succession of lessons that must be lived to be understood.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
The 12 Year Old Adult Method was born from my own lived experience. At 23, I took full responsibility for my life. At 35, I can say I’ve spent 12 years practicing intentional adulthood, balancing the areas that define a whole life:
Relationships
Financial literacy
Self-management (emotional regulation)
Parenting
Professionalism

Growing up takes guts, failure, micro-improvements, vulnerability, and maturity. If you don’t take control of your growth, life will dictate the lessons for you. But when you step into the role of General Manager of your own life, everything changes.
“When an inner situation is not made conscious, it appears outside as fate.”
– Carl Jung
Life is a collection of experience points. We can drift through, or we can choose to grow with intention. Where we focus, we grow. Where we don’t, we stagnate … and chaos follows.
It’s natural to polish the easy parts of life and avoid the uncomfortable ones. But the truth is: unaddressed areas spill into everything else. Micro messes become macro collapses.
How you do anything influences how you do everything.
Growing up isn’t linear… it’s layered, textured, and deeply human.
“We go through life. We shed our skins. We become ourselves.”
– Patti Smith
The 12 Year Old Adult is about stepping out of the “baby adult” stage and into intentional maturity. Because your greatest accomplishment won’t just be what you build — it will be who you become.
“Sometimes the greatest adventure is simply a conversation.” Amadeus Wolfe
